 碑めぐり案内

実際に碑巡りを行っている様子

　碑めぐり活動は1982年に初めて女学院で行われ40年近く続いている活動です。おもに県外からの修学旅行生にむけて案内しています。平和公園とその周辺には約70基の慰霊碑があり、私達はその中から10基の碑を案内します。有名な原爆死没者慰霊碑や原爆ドームだけでなく、あまり知られていない慰霊碑や建物についても案内します。

　また自分たちで担当する碑についてインターネットや本で詳しく調べ、要点をまとめそれに気付いたことや知識を加えて、自分だけのオリジナル原稿を作成します。それを使って碑めぐり案内をします。

　この活動は署名実行委員会だけでなく本校の生徒が多く参加していて、とてもやりがいのある活動です。碑めぐりは中高生に対して，同じ年代である私たち高校生が自分たちの言葉で行うので，より伝わりやすいと考えています。碑めぐり案内を通して平和活動を身近に感じてもらい、平和に対する意識を高めてもらうことが私たちの目標です。

The reason why we decided to make a workbook and app was to guide visitors from different prefectures of Japan or from overseas around monuments and buildings in Peace Memorial Park that are related to the atomic bombing. We highlight the Children's Peace Monument, the Atomic Bomb Dome, the Rest House, and others, hoping that tourists imagine the tragedy faced by the ordinary people who lived there. As guides, we conduct research and make presentations, gradually gaining a sense of responsibility and ownership as well as knowledge. Tourists who listen to us thank us and are often moved to tears, and they promise to join our campaign for peace and to abolish nuclear weapons. So, we upload movies of our Peace Monument Tour both in English and Japanese to the Hiroshima Archive so that people can learn about them anywhere and anytime.
